So today I packed for my holidays. I’m off to Portugal for a week Monday morning, yay! I always book really early morning flights so I like to pack a whole day before. Now luckily I’ve always found packing really easy and so I thought I’d share my tips with you.
I always manage to weigh in under the limit despite bringing a day and night outfit for each day and a spare just in case I have a change of mind! I always make a list the week before the holiday with everything I need (and specific things I plan to bring). This is incredibly handy when it comes time to actually get packing.
I start with my underwear; laying the bras out flat at the bottom of the case – folding them creates bulk. Then I place bags/purses with all my jewellery packed inside them (keeps them safe from damage and leaves extra space). Then, I roll each dress and line them across the case: this means that all outfits can fit in one layer across the case and stops them creasing. The same rolling technique can be used for tops. I scrunch my bikinis up and sit them along the side of the case (there is usually space left around the sides).
Shoes should be wrapped in tissue if they can be damaged or have been worn already. I always pack toiletries in the zipped section of the case, and always cellotape the lids to stop the pressure opening them. Toiletries are the heaviest part of luggage and so the less you can bring, obviously, the better. I pack make-up in a separate vanity bag which can be placed at the top of the luggage before leaving. If you would like to bring a beach towel, this can be placed on top of all the luggage, flat and tucked into the sides.
Hope these tips help you all have a less stressful packing experience for your future travels!
