I’m a little late to the game on this one but for years I’ve been debating whether or not to spend €42 on a palette of 12 small eyeshadows. After finally taking the leap I purchased Urban Decay’s Naked Palette and while I feel the hype was slightly over the top, I am glad I spent the money. So glad, in fact, that I also went and got the Naked Palette 2.
Urban Decay products are well renowned for being some of the best on the market and I do find their eyeshadow to have great vibrancy, but not the best staying power. These palettes each contain 12 beautiful colours which blend seamlessly into one another to create the perfect Smokey eye. Now, many have commented on how similar the 12 shades are – each is only one shade darker than the previous – and this is necessary for a Smokey eye palette.
You can literally take any colours from the palette and blend together for a flawless Smokey eye. The Naked 2 palette is slightly darker (though some colours are the same as in the first) and these are perfect nighttime looks in comparison to the more daytime friendly first palette.
Although the price of Urban Decay products are more expensive than your everyday cosmetics, I would recommend splurging on these palettes – even ask for them as a present. They are beautiful colours, so easy to work with and the palettes come with a blending brush and lipgloss. For tips on how to achieve a Smokey eye see my previous post. Below is one simple daytime example from the Naked Palette.
