I graduated from UCD in September after three amazing years there and to say I miss the place is an understatement. I finished classes back in April and had my final exams in May, such a nervous wait for my results in July. I graduated with a 2:1 after all my hard work, and late night’s stressing, and I couldn’t be happier.
Let’s be honest, the cap and gown are the most unflattering clothing items ever invented, and it didn’t help that we got the most beautiful sunny day. I chose royal blue for the day – recycling an old Closet peplum that I’ve worn only once before. I think blue is a great choice for graduation, it goes so well with the gown.
The day was perfect, I won’t complain about the weather being too hot and the sun a bit too bright cause that’s a little selfish in this country. We managed to get some nice pictures, but unfortunately most of my family couldn’t be there. All students only received 2 tickets which of course went to my mam and dad, so delighted they were both there with me on such a special day!
As you can see, I wore flats throughout the ceremony and for most pictures. No way was I going to be that girl who fell on stage: a fear I’ve had since Lizzie McGuire. Later that night I went for a meal with my family and boyfriend at my favourite restaurant. Sadly, I didn’t get the following day off work so it was an early one for me.
