As I explained in my last post, I won a hamper of Benefit goodies just before my holiday and I’ve loved trying them all out over the last couple of weeks. I’d never used Benefit products before so it was a whole new experience and I’ve found lots of new favourites.
Today I’m going to review the Bronze of Champions kit (in my last post I reviewed the Primping with the Stars kit if you fancy a read!)
Above is a picture of all the products within this kit, really handy tester-sized bits that I brought on holiday with me, perfect for traveling!
My absolute favourite is the mascara, They’re Real, this also came in the other kit so I talked a lot about this in my previous post. All I’ll say here to recap is that it’s super lengthening without making lashes look false or spidery. See my previous post for a full rundown. I’ll definitely be buying this mascara!
The Hoola bronzing powder, above, is lovely. It’s a matte consistency but has a small amount of shimmer that looks great on the skin. You can see above how deep the colour is against my skin, but when paired with foundation it just warms the skin. It’s a brilliant bronzer and definitely one worth investing in if you wear a lot of bronzer.
The Longwear Powder Shadow, above, is a gorgeous golden shimmer eyeshadow that looks amazing with blue eyes. I love golden smoky eyes and this shadow is a beauty. I haven’t used much of this shadow but on the occasions I did, it’s longevity did stand out, it doesn’t wear off and the shimmer is there to stay.
The Ultra Plush Hoola lip gloss is another lovely golden product, it looks like it should be dark on the skin given its deep bronze colour but it actually comes out like a nude with a slight shimmer. It’s not sticky so it feels nice on the lips and looks good, if you like a natural gloss you’ll love this.
The Creaseless Cream Shadow is intense but pretty, I didn’t use this shadow on holiday as I have hooded lids and cream shadows are never that long-lasting on my eyes no matter what they promise! I did trial this at home and it does have good sticking power but it did crease and I feel that this is simply because my lids are hooded, it stuck around longer than most so I’d imagine this is good on deep set eyes.
The Watts up! Highlighter is one of my favourites. You can see in the above picture how shimmery and golden it is on the skin, pictures just never do it justice. I don’t usually use golden highlighters, pink/lilac shimmers work better on my pale skintone but the glitter and shine in this highlighter makes it far more flattering than most golden highlighters. It’s so creamy and easy to blend too, I used this a lot on holiday!
I believe these kits retail for around €40 and while this particular kit wouldn’t be one I’d have bought for myself, because I don’t tend to use a lot of bronzer products, they are superb quality and well worth splurging on if these are products you’d use often. My favourites are the they’re real mascara and the watts up highlighter. Two greats!
