Another quick review of some old Kylie Cosmetics purchases today, fancying a little change I ordered 3 of her creme lipsticks to try; the colours looked so vibrant and because they were creams I knew they wouldn’t be in any way drying on the lips!
I love the colour pay-off and pigmentation of the lipkits so if you’ve read any of my previous reviews you’ll know that the only tiny issue I have is how dehydrating some of the mattes are so these lipsticks are a perfect way to enjoy the vibrant pigmentation Kylie is known for while keeping your lips moisturised. Win-win!
I ordered 3 colours; Creme Brulee, Madeleine and Raspberry Charlotte (from top to bottom, and I’ll show pics of them on the lips in the same order below!) They all looked amazing on the site and they were different enough shade-wise to justify ordering all 3!
You can see in the above swatch just how rich these lipsticks are, the colours are so vivid and a little goes such a long way. They also have excellent staying power, which is unusual enough for creamy lipsticks and they stay super glossy and shiny!
Creme Brulee (above) was a kind of out-of-character choice for me. I’ve only recently begun to experiment with nudes, I’ve always tended to go for rich and colourful lipsticks because I’m quite pale so this is new territory for me and I definitely like nudes with a hint of colour in them! I was a bit shocked by how Creme Brulee looked on, I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to wear it but it actually ended up looking well, it’s very pale but does have the tiniest hint of pink which helps against my skintone. This was definitely one of those purchases that looked a helluva lot different in real life than on screen so be cautious of that if you’re buying!
Madeleine (above) is a more reddish tone which would be more my usual type of shade. It’s light enough and falls on the brownish red side that it’s totally daytime appropriate. This was actually very similar to how it looked online so I was pleased with this one, it’s one I’ve gotten a good bit of casual wear out of.
Raspberry Charlotte is my favourite of the 3, and was actually my favourite from the whole collection online. It’s a deep pink colour which I love, I just think it suits my skintone and hair colour so well that I mostly wear shades like this! It’s a perfect shade for a night out because it’s so vibrant.
I found the wear on these lipsticks amazing, very little top-ups needed even when eating and drinking and my lips stayed so soft and hydrated while wearing this. Although I’m obsessed with her lipkits I’d recommend these creme lipsticks to anyone who has dry lips or feels that mattes are unwearable, you’ll still get that brilliant pigment and the range of shades is fab! I think I bought these for about $17 each so a tad pricey, especially when you consider customs but worth a buy if you love lipsticks and Kylie Cosmetics.
Have you tried these lipsticks? Do you prefer the lipkits?
