Today I wanted to do a quick review of the Kylie Cosmetics Festive Edition set I was lucky enough to get from my amazing boyfriend for Christmas! I’ve always looked at the different palettes and lip kits and wanted to try them but never treated myself – I did get a gorgeous miniature kit from my best friend last year which I reviewed here if you want to scroll back and read it!
This amazing holiday set comes with the ‘Naughty’ and ‘Nice’ eyeshadow palettes as well as the ‘Sugar’ and ‘Spice’ lip collections and a festive red lip kit! So many beautiful colours to try!
As I’d found before, I still find the Matte Liquid Lipsticks very drying, you really need to moisturize your lips before and after application to stop it flaking and peeling halfway through the night but the colour payoff is well worth the extra effort. The Velvet Liquid Lipsticks on the other hand are super soft and I never have any flaking with them, they stay soft and creamy for hours! The glosses are even silkier and very refreshing, they can even be used over some of the more drying Matte shades to give some shine and moisture.
I was really excited to try the eyeshadow, or should I say Kyshadow palettes, I’d seen some amazing reviews and Insta tutorials, but I’d also heard some negatives on the pigment. I’ve used these palettes a few times now and honestly have zero complaints; I found the pigment fantastic, really strong but very buildable so the paler shades can be intensified as much as required!
The shades in both palettes are stunning, a lovely mixture of mattes and shimmers that are so blendable you’ll always get the perfect smoky eye. The ‘Nice’ palette is a little more daytime appropriate, with lots of pale, neutral shades to keep it very wearable. The ‘Naughty’ palette is more dramatic, with darker shades.
I’ve played around so much with all of these products that there are too many pictures to post so I’ll just stick with some of my favourites, to give you all an idea of how they look, as always done by a girl who just loves makeup. I know I get frustrated seeing perfectly applied, and often filtered, makeup by MUAs who, presumably, are paid to promote most of the products they review!
Have you tried any of these palettes or lipsticks? How do you find them?
