I’ve been missing again for too long, life has been busy and hectic but I wanted to get back to blogging consistently this year and my wonderful family have made that much easier with all the amazing makeup they bought me for Christmas!
First up, the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette, I’ve wanted this palette since I first laid eyes on it and my Mam was lovely enough to get it for me. It’s so beautiful!
The shades in this palette are so rich that at first I was a little worried I wouldn’t be able to use most; just look at Amethyst, it’s such a bright purple! Luckily though, the pigments are amazing and the shadows are super blendable so you can buff away until you get the exact depth you want and they’re also ALL perfect for blue eyes.
There’s a great mix of shimmers/glitters and matte shades in this palette so you can do your whole smoky eye with ease – no need for any other palettes, which is always good news! It’s a lovely size palette as well, very easy to carry in your handbag if you need to, although I found these shades to be really tough so they’ll stick around all night.
Having done a little research and found a lot of tutorials, there’s actually so many different looks you can create with this palette and they’re not all night-time, there’s actually some lovely pale smoky eyes you can wear during the day without looking overdone.
I always use Inglot’s Duraline when applying any glitters or shimmer shades just to make them really pop and also give them some sticking power but these honestly have so much pigment you could use them without any base, they would just look a few shades paler than in the palette.
This is the first, and only, Huda Beauty palette I own but I’m already very keen to add to the collection – have you seen the Obsession palettes? Absolutely stunning! I’m so impressed with the pigmentation of these eyeshadows, much better than the Anastasia Beverly Hills palette I’d tried, and that’s saying something. I know they’re a little on the expensive side, but this palette in particular is so worth it, it’s a real investment and I want to use it every time I do my eyes!
