Hello Readers,
I was so excited to try the new Benefit Roller Liner Eyeliner and I could barely wait to share it with you all, either! I’ve gone through major phases of using liquid eyeliner, my favourite is the Seventeen Cosmetics Tattoo Me Semi-Permanent Liquid Liner, but I go in and out depending on the look I’m going for, and let’s be honest, how much time I have to do it 🙈 The struggle is real, girls.
I’d seen pictures of this felt tip-like pen in the weeks before it was released and it looked so easy to use! I love Benefit products in general so I figured it would be great quality. I picked up the miniature, as I usually do with new products, I just think they’re the best, most affordable way to try out products without committing to full-sized bottles (and parting with your hard-earned cash!) The miniature costs €12 and the full size costs €24 (there’s only 0.5ml in the difference 😉) I also find miniatures really handy for travel and popping in the handbag!
This felt tip is the perfect size and shape for that precision and honestly the first time I used it, I was amazed. It was even easier to use than I imagined! It’s been a good few months since I’ve done winged liner in general never mind with liquid eyeliner and this was effortless. It comes in a black and a brown shade, I clearly chose the black because I tend to go for the more dramatic finish if I am using eyeliner but having seen how easy this is to apply I think the brown would be beautiful for a more understated look.
The lasting power is the true test of an eyeliner though, the reason Seventeen’s Tattoo Me Liquid Liner is my favourite is because of how immovable it is, it really does not budge or smudge all night! I actually found this to be really on par, it stayed firm all night except for a tiny bit of fade on the outer wing but it wasn’t very noticeable and after that length of time (roughly 8 hours) I’ll take that as a success!
It didn’t smudge or transfer onto my crease/upper lid at all and with hooded eyes it’s an obvious concern and most liquid liners do smudge and leave a horrible black stain all along the crease. Not this one 👌
I’m absolutely in love with this liner, it took less than 10 minutes total to do both eyes and with ease, the tip is just the right size for the wing depth I like and the coverage is perfect! I didn’t need to go over any parts of the line, it distributed just enough product to complete the line and wing without patches or gaps.
Definite 10/10 for this one! Will be repurchasing when I eventually run out!
Lauren,
Xo
