Hello Readers,
Still working my way through all the Christmas goodies I was lucky enough to get and this is one that I get so much use out of; the Benefit Cosmetics Brow Stars giftset is full of all the stunning eyebrow products I’ve come to love since receiving a similar set the previous Christmas.
Luckily, I’ve never needed to use many brow products, my brows are naturally thick and decently shaped, thankfully I never fell into the trap of overplucking so I retained a natural shape. I only really use brow products to fill in any gaps in my brows so I’ve always veered toward pencils like the Urban Decay Brow Beater (I reviewed it previously and it’s fab so go have a read). Since receiving the first brow set I’ve been in love with Benefit Cosmetics range of eyebrow products so I’ll run through everything in this set today.
So first I’ll talk about one of my all-time favourite, must-have makeup products, the Goof-Proof Brow Pencil. This little pencil has been a staple in my collection for the past year and I was only thinking that I’d soon need another when my Mam surprised me with this set, but in Shade 5 as opposed to 3 which I’d been using before and it’s definitely a much darker more natural finish. This pencil is just so creamy you only need the smallest amount and it brushes through with the spoolie on the other end like a dream!
Cannot live without this pencil, although I’ve loved pencils before I think this will stay my go-to. I’ve literally had my first one a full year and a bit and I’ve still got some left! Incredible value. This retails separately for €26 but it’s honestly worth every penny in my opinion!
Next up, the Precisely My Brow Pencil. Very similar to the Goof-Proof but a much finer nib so it’s perfect for, as the name suggests, more precise definition and detail, especially on the inner edges of the brows. It’s actually the perfect size for creating those wispy hair-like lines if you like a fuller but natural finish. I don’t use this as much as the Goof-Proof but it’s very like the Brow Beater from Urban Decay so if you love that this will be a winner! This is also €26 individually and again I think it’s a reasonable price, super bendable and gorgeous coverage.
Next up, the Gimme Brow+ Volumising Eyebrow Gel is a good product to have in the collection. I would never have used anything like this before but it’s actually great for me on the days when I don’t necessarily want to fill in my brows but I want to give them a more polished look. This does a great job filling in the sparse areas of the brow, including the inner edges which are normally impossible to fill except with dainty little brush strokes. This just sweeps over the hairs making them look thicker and much fuller, it gives the appearance of adding hairs even though it’s not. Definitely something to try if you don’t use pencils or powders but want to define your brows! It’s €26.50 separately so it doesn’t break the bank but will last a long time too!
The Ka-BROW eyebrow cream-gel is ideal for very sparse brows that need a lot of filling and shaping, luckily mine don’t but I’ve still used these products a little, again usually on days where I don’t have a lot of time or I don’t want the precise definition a pencil gives. The cream-gel is the perfect texture, it has a natural finish and blends beautifully into the hairs so any extra product can be buffed away easily. I love the design of the bottle, there is a tiny little application brush in the stem which pops out and the product is in a little pot which unscrews at the bottom. It’s €26 which like the others is super affordable but especially for such a long-lasting product.
The Fool-Proof Brow Powder is something I very rarely use, I always find powder gives a much more dramatic finish. I used it years ago before realising that my brows only needed a light fill and next to no shaping. This is perfect for anyone who totally shapes their brows and maybe has very few natural hairs. It’s a beautiful consistency but it’s very intense, in my opinion anyway, so it looks great when used with a full-faced dramatic makeup look! Again, €26 and very pigmented so I don’t think you’d need a little even if you were shaping full brows.
The set also comes with a lovely double-ended brush/spoolie so you can use it for any of the products although they all have their own applicators.
A gorgeous set I have to say, would definitely recommend around Christmas for any brow lovers in your life! Even if you’re not sure they’re into brow products, I wasn’t particularly and I’ve been obsessed since! Benefit Cosmetics can do no wrong.
