Hello Readers,
I’ve recently rediscovered, or should I say properly discovered, how amazing blender sponges are for applying foundation flawlessly. I’ve been using the Real Techniques blenders I got in a set for Christmas and I love them but I’ve heard so much about the SOSU pro blender, a lot of girls reckon it’s the best they’ve ever used! I tried sourcing one on a few trips to Penneys with no luck so when I spotted them on Beauty Bay I had to add one to the basket!
This sponge was only €5.60 which is reasonable enough for a blender and I can honestly say it’s beautiful, it’s much bigger than a lot of the blenders on the market and it’s super soft and bouncy – a few of the blenders I’ve tried over the years actually hurt your face! I also really love the black colour, it’s a nice change from the usual bright pinks and oranges.
In the above, I’m wearing L.A. Girl Cosmetics Pro Coverage HD Foundation applied with the sponge and it is absolutely flawless. The sponge is big enough to cover most of the face quickly with little effort but the tip is small enough to get all around the nose area easily. I spray blenders with either the Makeup Revolution Aqua Priming Spray or the Oil Control Fixing Spray and both work perfectly for wetting the sponge and ensuring the foundation sits beautifully on the skin.
I just love the finish of foundation and concealer with this sponge and it’s the perfect size, too. How do you apply foundation? If you use blenders, which is your favourite brand?
Lauren,
